High School Conquer

High School Conquer

The High School Conquer the Chaos Initiative was piloted in Fall, 2015 in Austin High School with three seniors. We were thrilled that all three of the Leaders graduated from Austin and started careers in the field aligned with their long-term goals and/or accepted into local colleges. In 2017, we expanded the program to Scottsburg High School. Both high schools in Scott County now have a Conquer program. We hope to expand the number of team leaders in the future and recruit more team allies to work with our young leaders.

Our mission is to inspire and equip young adults to thrive and live successfully in our community as well as break the cycle of generational poverty. We believe strongly that responsibility for both poverty and prosperity rests not only in the hands of individuals, but also with societies, institutions and communities. It’s the underlying foundation of this model to engage people and organizations in the community address the issues of systemic poverty as well. It is our hope that our High School Conquer Team Leaders graduate the program and join the adult Conquer Initiative to help continue to build strong relationships and work their way out of CHAOS.
