All Stars

The Scott County Partnership partners with SCSD1 & SCSD2 to teach substance prevention to every student in Scott County. The goal is to increase protective factors and decrease risk factors to help students build knowledge, resilience and resist peer pressure. Building healthy relationships and maintaining good mental health are essential key components to help lower the risk of substance use.

What is All Stars?

All Stars is a continuum of prevention programs, for grades 4-12, designed to delay the onset of risky behaviors with adolescents. With over 30 years of proven results, All Stars is listed on the National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices.

8th Grade

The Scott County Partnership teaches the 12 All Stars lessons to 8th grade students in Austin Middle School.

By teaching All Stars in the 8th grade, it reinforces concepts students learned in the 6th and 7th grade. Students are also introduced to SMART Goals. This goal setting method helps students to understand how to set goals with increased success.
